Bloody machete? No, just a stage prop
Flathead County’s Sheriff’s Office responded to Whitefish Stage Road near Reserve Drive Tuesday morning after receiving a report of a large machete with what appeared to be blood on the blade. The report was cleared when it was determined that it was a stage prop.
Deputies received several reports of potential sightings of fugitives John McCluskey and Casslyn Welch. None were confirmed. The pair was placed in the vicinity of Glacier Park earlier, but there is no clear idea where they are.
An 8-year-old girl refused to give her mother her keys while the two were in a vehicle on Shady Lane. Deputies counseled the uncooperative child and her frustrated mother.
Six youths were seen trespassing through a yard on Stoner Creek Road.

Gossip generated a call to police when someone on Conrad Drive became angry that a neighbor was “making up things” about their daughter.

A repeat offender was seen exposing himself in Pacific Park in Bigfork. Deputies were unable to locate the man.
The ex-husband of a woman reported her missing on Belton Stage Road near Columbia Falls. The woman told deputies he couldn’t contact her for a reason. She didn’t want to talk to him.
A young male was seen with needle-nose pliers taking truck parts at a business on U.S. 2 East. Deputies were unable to locate him.
Kalispell Police arrested a man for aggravated assault after he allegedly punched another man hard enough to “cave in his cheek bone” on Eighth Street West. The victim refused a ride to the hospital.
Exploding firecrackers frightened and annoyed someone on Third Avenue West.
A caller said her husband — who had once threatened the family with an ax — was violating a restraining order. Officers found no evidence a crime had been committed.
Someone was bit by a dog in Lawrence Park.
Sprinklers were damaged at a property on Airport Road.
Four children were playing on the roof of a concession stand on Fourth Avenue West.
A group of young girls were seen running around an apartment on North Meridian Road in their underwear. Not surprisingly, there were boys present as well.

A 4-year-old girl was returned to her mother after the girl wandered into a business crying near the intersection of North Main Street and West Idaho.
An assault was reported on Shady Lane. No other information was available.
