Phillip J. Roselli, 91

Phillip J. Roselli, 91, passed away on Aug. 9, 2010, after a long battle with cancer, at Brendan House in Kalispell. Phillip was born on March 25, 1919, in Baton Rouge, La., to Henry and Josephine Roselli. Phillip spent his early years in Compton, Calif., where his family moved when he was 7 or 8 years old. After he finished school, he joined the Air Force and was a gunner on a B-17, stationed in Bitburg, Germany, during World War II and spent 21 years at different bases before his retirement. During this time he married twice. Phillip and Mickey had a daughter, Judy; and he had two daughters, Darlene and Terry, with his second wife, Mildred. Both wives preceded him in death. In 1993, he married Carolyn Misiner, and they moved to Kalispell in 1998 and made their home here ever since. Phillip was an avid NASCAR fan and Jeff Gordon was his favorite driver, having watched him from the start racing go-carts. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Judy and Darlene; two brothers; and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughter, Terry Roselli; grandchildren, Chrystal Nelson and Michael Palmer, both of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Shannon Barker of California; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry, and three sisters, Francis, Mary and Virginia, all of California; and two stepdaughters, Shirly and Linda. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 13, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. A celebration of Phillip's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
