McConnell, WHS girls win golf titles
Kiley McConnell of Whitefish shot a 79 to capture medalist honors and lead the Whitefish girls golf team to an impressive 37-shot victory in the season opener on Monday at the Anaconda Invitational.
McConnell looked to be in mid-season form with her low round at the challenging Old Works Golf Course.
Joining McConnell in the top 10 were: Whitefish’s Danielle McCully, 91, third; Klaire Taylor, 93, tied for fourth; and Erin Tabish, 97, tied for seventh.
Amy Williamson of Polson shot 99 to place 10th.
In boys competition, Brad Palin of Hamilton shot 73 to edge Reed Platke of Whitefish for medalist honors.
Riley Dennis of Ronan was sixth, 80, and Hayden Congdon of Polson tied for eighth.
Hamilton also claimed the title, 316, with Belgrade second, 331, and Whitefish third, 350.
Whitefish competes in Ronan on Friday.
