Man in short pants too friendly

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office doesn’t think it’s Swampman, but a report of a suspicious man in a marsh near U.S. 2 East got their attention. A young female told deputies that the unshaven man with matted hair was wearing women’s Capri pants and a “flowered belt.” He told the girls he loved them. He could not be located by law enforcement.

A woman carrying a rifle asked for a ride from a passing motorist near Bitterroot Lake. The man declined the request.

Robbery was reported on West Cottonwood Drive after an intoxicated man said someone beat him up and stole his vehicle. The case is under investigation.

Someone broke the window of a van parked on East Evergreen Drive.

A pit bull bit someone on Berne Road near Columbia Falls.

A checkbook and cellular phone were stolen from a vehicle on St. Andrews Drive. A barbecue and lawn furniture were stolen from a home near Bay View Drive. Jewelry was reportedly missing from a residence on Harbor Drive.

Men were seen driving and smoking what appeared to be marijuana on U.S. 93 North.

Two bicycles were found abandoned on School Addition Road.

A man and woman were embroiled in a verbal argument over an infant on Montana 35.

Thirty feet of landscaping was ruined after a vehicle drove through a yard on Three Mile Drive.

A concerned resident called deputies after watching a horse struggle to stand up near Riverside Drive. When they arrived, the horse had died of natural causes.

A Facebook scam was reported on Forest Drive.

Two shoplifters were caught at a business on U.S. 2 East.

Five young males were seen smoking at a railroad trestle near Nicholson Drive Road. Deputies asked them to move along.

A man on Two Mile Drive called after returning home and finding people removing items from his home. It turned out to be a misunderstanding between the man and a bank. The items were returned.

 Someone called after seeing “six starving horses” near Willow Glen Drive. Deputies said the horses were healthy and well-fed.

Yet another potential sighting of fugitives from Arizona was called in from Blankenship Road. Deputies could not confirm the sighting.

A man on Eckelberry Drive was arrested for pushing his wife into a tub after she accused him of cheating on him.

Vulgar calls were being received by a girl on Trail’s End Drive after she accidentally called someone when she sat on her phone.

Kalispell Police were called after someone on North Meridian Road attempted to stop a thief. The caller said that the suspect stole cigarette tobacco before being chased out of the business.

A video game system and 15 games were reported stolen on East Nevada Street.

An angry girlfriend on Eighth Street West said that her boyfriend’s possessions were being stolen while he is in jail.

A 1984 Toyota pickup truck was stolen near Fourth Avenue East.

Officers were unable to locate a dog that kept running in and out of a business on Hutton Ranch Road. A woman was arrested for shoplifting at a business on the same road.

A GPS was stolen from a vehicle on Third Avenue North.

Someone thought they saw someone climbing a water tower near Sunny View Lane.

Trespassing was reported after three individuals refused to leave a business on West Center Street. One of the suspects said they had a gun. They were gone when officers arrived.

A pedestrian refused medical treatment after being hit by a vehicle on West Idaho Street.

A man on Second Avenue West was arrested for disorderly conduct after allegedly becoming violent during a disagreement.

After locking himself out of his house, a man on Third Avenue East called officers for assistance. He turned down their help when they told him they would have to bust out a window.

Someone called to report a stolen bike on Two Mile Drive. The person later said he rode it somewhere, but couldn’t remember where he left it.

Officers were unable to locate a reckless driver who almost collided with a woman and a stroller near Glenwood Drive.
