Attila V. Dunlap Clifford, 51
Attila V. Dunlap Clifford, 51, died unexpectedly at her home in Tucson, Ariz., on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010. She was born Oct. 10, 1958, in Okinawa, Japan. She was a 1976 graduate of Flathead High School and spent a few months with the Conservation Corps, both in Darby and Rapid City, S.D., before enlisting in the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force she was married and had a son, Derek Wright. She had overseas duty in Korea, Saudi Arabia and England. As a laboratory specialist in fuels, in the 179th Wing at Mansfield-Lamm Air Base, Mansfield, Ohio, she attained the rank of master sergeant. After a flightline injury, she left the Air Force on disability. She later attended Ohio State University where she graduated with degrees in psychology and criminal justice. With a job offer in Tucson, she relocated there in 2006. Recently she had experienced some health problems that were thought to be minor, but were evidently not so. She is survived by her son, Derek Wright, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a brother, Sterling Dunlap, of Valdosta, Ga.; an uncle, William C. Alpeter, of Waikiki, Honolulu; and her parents, Noel and Sarah Dunlap, of Kila. Cremation has taken place. A small funeral service will be private.
