Transient caught in trash collection

Kalispell Police were called when a transient tumbled out of a Dumpster as a business collected garbage on West Montana Street. The transient didn’t appear to be injured.

Officers asked another sleeping transient to leave after he was found sleeping in a business on U.S. 93 North.

A contractor removing a gazebo apparently uncovered a gravestone on Sixth Street West. It was marked “Neema 1905-1980.”

On Fifth Avenue East, someone reported the theft of a package from their front porch.

Someone called police after money was stolen on Second Avenue West.

A woman was arrested on a warrant after an altercation with a man on U.S. 93 North.

A man was punched in the face during a dispute at a business on First Street West.

Someone told police their cellular phone was stolen on Third Avenue West.

After being reported missing on Teal Drive, a 2-year-old was found in a “a hideout” the older kids had made in the house.

Police kindly transported a woman hitchhiking with three young children to a shelter after the family was seen by a passing motorist.

The site of a previous burglary on Two Mile Drive was the site of a second burglary. A watch and medications were taken.

Someone called police after their 3-year-old daughter was called names on Teton Street.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office was called after someone saw a family of four floating the North Fork on air mattresses near Glacier Rim.

Road rage was the apparent reason that a blue Pontiac Firebird blocked in another motorist on U.S. 93 South near Whitefish and displayed an obscene gesture.

Identification theft was reported on Treasure Island Way after someone’s e-mail was hacked.

Someone called deputies after their computer was taken from a man by his roommate on Cottonwood Drive. Deputies counseled the man’s roommate who had taken it as collateral for unpaid rent.

A laptop computer was reported stolen from a house on Reserve Drive.

A black purse normally kept inside a vehicle on Pleasant Hill Drive was missing when the owner looked for it.

Private investigators visiting a home on South Cedar Drive prompted a report of suspicious activity. An elderly man riding a bicycle and looking at homes on Birch Drive was likewise deemed suspicious.

A sparkler bomb is believed to have been used to destroy a mailbox on Leisure Drive.

A wallet containing $70 in cash was stolen from a vehicle on Montana 83 in Bigfork.

Harassment was reported after someone called in a case of bad driving by someone driving a company vehicle on U.S. 2 East.

Two teenage boys were seen throwing rocks on U.S. 93 South near Whitefish. The rocks were there but the boys were gone when deputies arrived.

An intoxicated woman prompted a call to police after she went through a drive-through at a business on Ninth Street West near Columbia Falls. A drunk man was seen obstructing traffic on Parkview Lane in Lakeside. Both were gone when deputies arrived.
