Glacier stumbles in Billings
BILLINGS — The mistakes piled up for Glacier as the Wolfpack turned the ball over four times and stalled on offense and ended up losing 28-13 to Billings Senior in AA football at Daylis Stadium on Friday night.
“We just had too many breakdowns and mistakes,” Glacier head coach Grady Bennett said. “The good thing is it’s fixable.”
Glacier’s Boyce Ballard returned an interception 37 yards for a touchdown and Quintyn Menegazzi capped the Wolfpack’s scoring with a 3-yard run. Brendan Hagen ran the ball nine times for 85 yards.
“There was just a lot of sloppy things that as a head coach I’m embarassed about and we need to take care of. It starts with me and goes top down,” Bennett said.
Trey Griffith shined in his first varsity football game, nabbing two interceptions and earning a fumble recovery. The Wolfpack defense forced six turnovers overall.
“I’m really proud of our effort, we just simply made too many mistakes,” Bennett said.
Glacier heads to defending state champ Great Falls CMR next Friday.
