Hungry Horse pursuit leads to numerous charges

After a short pursuit in the Hungry Horse area at around 2 a.m. Monday, Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man, 53, on a variety of charges: failure to stop, driving under the influence, driving with a suspended or revoked license, no registration, no insurance and a contempt warrant.

Sunday morning, a Martin City resident reported criminal mischief involving a door to a well house being kicked in, probably by a person he recently evicted.

Someone reported that a vehicle was taken sometime overnight from a parking lot on Cooperative Way, but it was returned by morning. The reporting party said snow patterns in the lot indicated the vehicle had been taken, and there were about 50 additional miles on the odometer.

There was a report of a pit bull attacking a yellow Lab in the Harmony Court area.

A Bass Avenue resident in the Coram area called to complain about snow plowing that had created an eight-foot berm and reduced the roadway to one-lane traffic.

There was a report of a snowboard being stolen at Whitefish Mountain Resort.

There was a report of a disturbance at a Montana 206 residence, with a man and woman being separated by deputies but no arrests.

Sunday afternoon, a skier went missing after skiing out-of-bounds at Whitefish Mountain Resort. The skier was located and hauled out by snowmobilers.

A woman calling from a location along Montana 35 in Evergreen reported that she had been beaten by her boyfriend. It was unclear if the call led to an arrest, but the incident is under investigation.

A woman calling from the Lakeside area reported that she had been assaulted by another woman who had grabbed her by the coat and choked her. There did not appear to be any arrests.

Responding to a report of people yelling at a Tamarack Lane residence in the Columbia Falls area, deputies encountered a party that was under way and ended up charging four minors with possession of alcohol.

There was a report of a man looking into windows of a neighbor’s house. It turned out to be a boyfriend visiting a girl whose mother was not happy about it.

A woman called from a Corbett Lane residence in the Coram area to report an ongoing dispute with a man, but she was gone when a deputy arrived and refused to cooperate afterwards.

Kalispell Police got a report just after 9 a.m. Monday involving a road-rage incident at Sunny View Lane and U.S. 93 north. The driver of one vehicle apparently got out, approached and struck the driver of another vehicle in the face, knocking his contact out. He then got back in his vehicle, drove off and could not be located.

Officers assisted a man, about 40 years old, having a seizure and vomiting in the middle of the road on the 600 block of Fourth Avenue West.

Sunday, a girl, 19, was arrested for shoplifting from a store in the Hutton Ranch Plaza.

A woman called from a Garland Street residence to report that her unwanted husband was refusing to leave. The man made arrangements to leave and eventually did so.
