Joedy Byrd, 83

| December 15, 2010 2:00 AM

Joedy Byrd, 83, “left the bounds of this life to touch the hand of God.”

Joedy was born on Jan. 24, 1927, and “went to be with the Lord” on Dec. 10, 2010.

She is greatly missed by her four daughters, Vicki Estrella, Trudy Blaylock, Cheyrl Byrd Herman and Susan Burns; her son, Gary Byrd; and leaves behind her kitty, Zora. She is also deeply missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, friends and church family.

“She will be joining her daughter, Diana; her son, Danny; and her beloved husband, Lloyd Byrd; brothers, mother and father at the gates of Heaven.”

She married her husband, Lloyd Byrd, on Nov. 24, 1950. They lived in Orange County, Calif., for 30 years and raised their children there as well.

After her children were grown and starting their own families, Joedy and Lloyd moved to Saudi Arabia for Lloyd’s job as a wire cable production manager. They lived there for the next five years and came to Kalispell to live and be with her children and their new families. They enjoyed their lives together until Lloyd passed away on June 12, 1994.

Even through the trials in her life, Joedy always put the Lord first. Her relationship with him is what kept her alive and happy until her last breath. She passed away with a smile on her face knowing she was headed to God and her loved ones who were already awaiting her.

Services will be announced at a later date. Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls is caring for Joedy’s family.
