Mystery bullet flies past hot tub
Flathead County sheriff
A bullet whizzed past a hot tub on Spotted Bear Road, according to a resident, who apparently also heard the retort of a high-powered rifle around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday. Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies were unable to locate the source of the apparent gunshot.
A woman called authorities Tuesday afternoon after her 31-year-old niece allegedly threatened to burn down her Twin Lakes Road home and was beating on the house using a small sledge hammer.
A man apparently stuffed an energy drink down his pants and walked out of a box store on U.S. 2 East Tuesday around 5 p.m. He was cited for shoplifting.
A Kila woman has been getting unwanted phone calls and she suspects the calls are from a man she has a restraining order against. She asked authorities if they can trace the calls.
A Braig Road resident was bitten by a neighbor’s brown and white dog Tuesday. He apparently did not need medical attention. Deputies are attempting to contact the animal’s owner.
An ungovernable Haywire Gulch teen was apparently skipping school. She was taken to Pathways Tuesday night.
Gunshots reportedly heard near Smith Lake Road around 9:35 p.m. Tuesday turned out to be fireworks.
A suspicious vehicle, parked near the main gate of the gravel pit on Cemetery Road, was running, but unoccupied around 2 a.m. Wednesday.
A deputy gave two women a ride home around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday following a dispute in the Helena Flats area. The women and a man began arguing while inside a vehicle, but the women got out and started walking after the argument became heated.
A woman noticed the door to her Haywire Gulch residence had been kicked in sometime Tuesday night. Nothing was reported missing.
A 16-year-old boy took off running from a Haywire Gulch residence Wednesday morning. He has not yet been located.
Two vehicles, apparently full of yelling teens playing loud music, were gone when deputies arrived at the Conrad Cemetery soon before 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Deputies received 111 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Kalispell police
Despite warnings not to, a motorist pursued a vehicle suspected to be full of marijuana users from the parking lot of a box store on U.S. 93 North to the parking lot of a grocery on Third Avenue East North Tuesday evening. Kalispell Police were later unable to locate the suspicious vehicle.
Officers were also unable to locate a supposedly intoxicated pedestrian wearing a cowboy hat reported to be walking along Third Avenue East Tuesday afternoon.
Awoman told police Tuesday night that her separated husband is apparently “out of control” after the two argued at a Seventh Avenue East residence. She was counseled.
Someone tried to get in her house, a woman told police Tuesday night. The unknown person tried her back door then walked around the house, according to footprints in the snow. Police checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.
Graffiti appeared at the Woodland Ice Center, but there were no witnesses.
Someone stole a calculator, “Magic: The Gathering” cards, and a backpack from an unlocked vehicle on Crestline Avenue.
A rock was thrown through the back window of a car parked along Sixth Avenue West North on Wednesday morning.
Officers received 72 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Whitefish police
Around 2 a.m. Wednesday, Whitefish Police arrested a Columbia Falls man for public urination on Central Avenue.
Officers received 25 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Columbia Falls police
Columbia Falls Police received 20 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Alarms
A vehicle reportedly backed over a woman along West Reserve around 3:36 p.m. Tuesday. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene. No word on whether she was transported or the injuries reported.
