Prep Basketball: Sentinel girls overtake Glacier
MISSOULA — Glacier couldn’t hang on to a nine-point lead in the third period as Missoula Sentinel stormed back to claim a 45-40 Western AA girls basketball victory on Tuesday.
“They hit a three to kinda get back in it,” Glacier coach Kris Salonen said.
“We stayed in it, but they got aggressive and we kind of backed off. We didn’t play scared, just soft with our attacking.”
Sentinel (13-2, 5-2 Western AA) outscored Glacier 18-8 in the fourth quarter. Glacier (7-8, 2-5) led 20-18 at intermission.
Brooke Watkins topped the Wolfpack in scoring with 10 points. Nine of those points came on treys.
McCall Hasquet and Bryn Hasquet were scoring leaders for Sentinel with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Glacier hosts Missoula Big Sky on Friday.

TROY — Points were few and far between as Libby (8-8 overall) defeated District 7B foe and Lincoln County rival Troy in a low-scoring affair.
Game scoring honors went to Colton Cannon and TJ Benson of Libby, who both tallied eight points.

Kyle Blades scored four of his game-high 22 points in overtime as the Whitefish JV topped Stillwater Christian School in a nonconference game at SCS.
Chris Forrest added 13 points for the victors.
Trevor Holladay led a balanced Stillwater attack with 16 points. Trent Burton and Josh LeGassey were next with 12 each.
