Loyola rallies by Bigfork for Western B title
PABLO — Missoula Loyola rallied past Bigfork for a thrilling 42-41 victory on Saturday night in the Western B divisional girls basketball championship game.
Loyola, ranked No. 3 in Class A, outscored Bigfork, ranked No. 8, 10-6 in the final period.
Bigfork (19-4) led 23-17 at the half and 35-32 heading into the fourth period.
The Valkyries were led by Caitlin Charlebois, who scored 20 points. Ashley Mederios scored 11 points for Loyola.
Bigfork will now play a challenge game on Monday at 6 p.m. versus Eureka in Pablo. The winner advances to state in Belgrade on March 11-13 along with Loyola.

PABLO — Eureka used a big first half to capture the consolation title with a 14-point victory over Valley Christian.
The Lions (14-10) held Valley Christian under double-digit scoring in the first three periods.
Steph Vogelman led Eureka with 14 points.
Eureka will face Bigfork on Monday at 6 p.m. in Pablo in a challenge game. The winner advances to state.
Earlier Saturday, Eureka overcame a slow start, outscored 3-1 in the opening quarter, to eliminate Florence 39-30.
The Lions led 13-7 at the half.
Cassidy Morgan and Vogelman both had 10 points for Eureka. Tayler Holder added seven.
In the other loser-out contest, Valley Christian edged Deer Lodge 45-44.

The Rams downed Plains 65-51 in a challenge game on Saturday night to earn the No. 2 seed into the Class B state basketball tournament.
Loyola lost to second-ranked Florence on Saturday in the divisional title game, 66-65 in overtime.
The Class B state tournament begins Thursday in Great Falls.
