Mystery car shows up in driveway

After finding an unknown vehicle parked in the driveway Thursday morning, a resident was apparently unconcerned it was there, but wanted to know who it belonged to.

Parents called authorities after they were unable to get their 12-year-old son to attend school. They called Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies after their attempts to wrestle him into the car failed. They were counseled.

A resident called authorities after sniffing what he believed was a drug-related smell near Farm to Market Road. Authorities arrived and determined the scent was from burning trash.

Unknown children apparently left a robot on a woman’s porch around 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Kalispell police

A man reportedly entered the bathroom of a video rental store on West Idaho Street Wednesday evening and remained in there for about an hour. He apparently passed out in the store upon exiting the bathroom. An employee roused him and sent him outside and he left. The employee later found an empty beer can in the bathroom. Kalispell police were unable to locate the man.

Dispatchers heard a voice say “yeah we got-” before the 911 call disconnected. Apparently a pit bull attempted to attack a neighbor and another man, officers learned upon arriving at the Hilltop Avenue residence. The owner was cited for having a dog at large.

A man was threatened by another tenant who lives in the same apartment complex. He told police he has a condition that causes him to make involuntary movements, which apparently irritate the tenant. He was counseled.

An 18-year-old male shoplifter apparently fought with employees of a grocery store on West Idaho after he tried to load stolen groceries into his Isuzu Rodeo Thursday afternoon. When officers cuffed him, he apparently tried to slip free. He was arrested and sent to the Flathead County Detention Center.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police are searching for the unknown person who stole a scale used in science experiments from Whitefish High School.

The animal warden is investigating a dog that was found shot near Creek View Drive.

Unknowns broke a front window of a residence on Colorado Avenue. Officers are investigating.

Officers received 35 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
