Robert Edwin Bob Cole, 63

Robert Edwin Bob Cole, 63, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell. He was born on Dec. 26, 1946, in Kalispell, the son of Melvin J. and Levina (Strom) Cole. He attended schools in Enumclaw, Wash., and graduated from Enumclaw High School. He was in the U.S. Navy and served in the Marine Special Forces from 1969 until his discharge in 1972. He worked as a logger in Washington State until moving back to Kalispell and worked for Gary Krause Logging for a few years; and later was a bar owner in California; and for the last several years worked for Western Traffic Control as a traffic controller on highway construction, driving a pilot vehicle. He enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, NASCAR races, camping and hanging out with his many good friends and swapping logging stories. He also was a master storyteller and the classic BS er. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his partner in life of 20 years, Linda Meyer, of Kalispell; his sister, Zina Evans, and her partner, Dick Monroe, of Buckley, Wash., and her two sons, Dustin and family of Buckley, and Shane and family of Alaska; four stepchildren, Sharron, Kelly and Shallon of Washington, and Darrin of California; and nine grandchildren.
