Two residents of a Crestline Avenue senior facility had to be separated by Kalispell Police Tuesday after a man struck a woman in the chest and arm. He was removed for the evening. The woman did not require medical attention. No word on what sparked the incident.

A man complained about his neighbors’ cat a few days ago, but now believes the neighbors are retaliating. Officers are investigating.

Two deer stuck in the stadium in Legends Field were freed.

Believing that she and her child were almost hit by a white Chevy Tahoe around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, a woman confronted the driver. The younger driver apparently told the mother she didn’t care, then sped off westbound on East Idaho Street. Officers counseled both women and determined the incident didn’t meet criteria for reckless driving.

Suspicious persons seen riding four-wheelers and tearing up the hill above the pool in Woodland Park were gone when police arrived Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were unable to locate the man who kept falling off his bike as he rode in U.S. 2 West traffic around noon Wednesday.

The threatening letter a woman found on her car’s windshield around 1 p.m. Wednesday was related to a personnel issue and will be handled by her workplace.

Alarms

An oven coil created a fire troublesome enough to warrant a call to the Smith Valley Fire Department, but when crews arrived soon after 4 p.m. Tuesday the fire had burned itself out.

Bigfork Fire Department responded to a report of a bonfire on Vista Lane around 6:15 p.m. Monday, but it turned out to be a controlled slash pile.

Evergreen Fire Rescue crews were unable to locate the source of a plastic burning smell reported at a River Road residence Tuesday night.

Investigating a report of a man trapped on an overturned boat in the middle of the lake, Whitefish Fire Department learned it was a para-kiter waiting for a gust of wind.
