In order to protect themselves, Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies put a hood on a woman after she spat on a deputy as she was taken into the booking area of the Flathead County Detention Center. The combative 37-year-old refused to leave an Evergreen bar around 1 a.m. Thursday. The woman, who had been drinking, was removed by law enforcement after she apparently slapped the bartender and kicked people. Once in her cell, she was apparently crying and yelling, but soon when to sleep. She was arrested for assault with bodily fluid, assault, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, all misdemeanors.
Loose dogs in the Elm Avenue area snarled at a woman as she was getting her mail around 1 p.m. Thursday, prompt her to call authorities, fearing for her safety. As an animal control officer was on scene speaking with the woman, a second woman walked outside with a gun. She said she had the gun just in case, to protect herself from the dogs. Deputies are investigating.
A man riding his bike near his Antelope Trail residence was almost hit by a car Wednesday afternoon. The driver, who has a restraining order against him, apparently acted as if she planned to run him over, the man told deputies.
Three teens were warned for trespassing after they skateboarded near a Bigfork auto repair store around 6 p.m. Wednesday.
A man was seen sitting on a propane tank near the side of U.S. 93 North near Karrow Avenue around 2:40 a.m. Thursday.
Deputies received 123 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
Seeing a man sitting in her son’s truck Wednesday afternoon, a woman walked over to greet him, figuring it was one of her son’s friends. But as she approached, she realized the man was rifling through the truck. The startled would-be-thief apparently hit her on the forearm with a metal pipe and fled on foot, dropping items he had taken as he ran. Kalispell Police are investigating.
A 19-year-old called police after another teen reportedly threatened her with a hammer while they were in the parking lot of a Kalispell mall. The hammer was later located in a nearby car. Officers counseled the group of teens, arresting a 19-year-old woman for possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia and another 19-year-old woman for disorderly conduct.
Around 4 a.m. Thursday, a clerk who worked at a U.S. 93 North business was found passed out in a sedan in the parking lot. Once roused, the woman stated she was on a new medication. She later appeared alert and OK.
A set of deer antlers and three sets of elk antlers were stolen from a Woodland Avenue yard sometime Wednesday night.
A blue heeler reportedly bit a postal delivery driver near an Eighth Avenue East residence Wednesday afternoon. Officers are investigating.
A white Ford pickup was seen driving without headlights or taillights around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday along Reserve Loop. It was gone when officers arrived.

Whitefish Police were called after a middle-aged man apparently passed out at a Central Avenue bar Wednesday night. He was soon up and walking, and the call was canceled before officers arrived. It is unknown if alcohol was a factor.
A door to a Whitefish ATM machine was found wide open around 3 p.m. Thursday. No one was around. Whitefish Police spoke with the security company.
Medical marijuana was stolen from a Colorado Avenue residence Wednesday evening.

A 12-year-old boy was riding a bike when he was reportedly hit by a bus near the intersection of Talbot Road and 12th Avenue West around 3:32 p.m. Thursday. Three Rivers Ambulance was dispatched for the boy’s bump on the head, but he was not transported.
