Man gets faceful of cereal, fist

After throwing a bowl of cereal at a man and punching him in the face, a woman left an East Reserve Drive residence Saturday morning before Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies arrived.

A suspicious foreign-language fax received by a motel on U.S. 2 East was given to the detectives to translate Friday afternoon.

Deputies counseled two teens who were dodging cars on skateboards along Airport Road Friday evening.

Sitting nearby on his motorcycle, a man apparently wouldn’t allow his ex-wife to leave her car. He took off after she called authorities Friday night.

An 18-year-old was cited and released for shoplifting makeup from a box store on U.S. 2 East around 8:32 p.m. Friday.

A man was riding his bike by a Middle Road house Friday night, making offensive face and hand gestures at a resident.

Bouncers broke up a fight in the parking lot of a bar on U.S. 2 West around midnight Friday before deputies arrived.

Deputies were unable to locate the suspicious gunshots a Ferndale Drive resident heard while gardening Saturday afternoon.

A man has been receiving text messages from an unknown person who is apparently trying to sell him drugs. The matter was referred to the Northwest Drug Task Force.

Deputies received 163 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

An employee saw a man laying on the sidewalk along South Main with another man standing over him Friday afternoon. Kalispell Police determined there was no need for medical treatment and the men, who apparently had been drinking, were on their way home.

A 20-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting from a grocery on Third Avenue East North Friday evening.

Police were unable to locate the man in his late 40s who fell as he staggered home along Fifth Avenue West around 6:35 p.m. Friday.

Five young teens were seen running along Second Street West Friday night, hiding behind buildings, avoiding cars and hurtling through people’s yards.

Officers received 78 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Whitefish Police are trying to locate the man and woman seen screaming at each other and physically fighting along Second Avenue around 6:14 p.m. Friday.

The men fighting along Central Avenue around 1:50 a.m. were gone when police arrived.

Officers received 23 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Columbia Falls Police arrested a 21-year-old man for  for obstruction when he refused to idenify the passengers in his car during a traffic stop around 2:16 a.m. Saturday. A 19-year-old man in that car was subsequently arrested on warrants, one of which was a felony.

An 18-year-old man was arrested for putting a bottle of Bud Light Lime down his pants and attempting to exit a Nucleus Avenue grocery Saturday.

Officers received 13 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Alarms

Sustaining a possible head injury and lacerations as a result of a four-wheeler accident, a woman was transported via ALERT from Polebridge to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

After going off a jump at a Whitefish ski area Saturday afternoon, a 15-year-old boy sustained a possible head injury. Big Mountain Ambulance transported him to North Valley Hospital.

A cat sustained two broken legs after it was attacked by a dog on the deck of its Conrad Drive home around 1 p.m. Saturday. The cat remains in unknown condition at a local veterinary clinic.

Flames seen peeking through the trees near Many Lakes Drive turned out to be an orange bush.
