Columbia Falls Police are hunting for the man seen stuffing frozen steaks down his pants at a grocery on U.S. 2 West Tuesday.

Officers received 15 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A 12-year-old and a 15-year-old called Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies because they didn’t like their mother’s disciplinary methods. They were told to mind their mother around 8 p.m. Monday.

After a child apparently threw rocks at a Central Avenue resident, the resident held the child until his parents arrived. Deputies counseled those involved around 10 a.m. Tuesday.

A mountain lion lunged at a woman as she walked near Steel Mountain Road around noon Tuesday, but her dog chased it off. The dog hasn’t returned. The matter was referred to Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks.

Two men and a woman, all wearing red-checkered flannel shirts, were apparently aggressively panhandling Tuesday afternoon. One was seen brandishing a knife at a woman who passed by their location near a box store on U.S. 2 East. Deputies searched the area, but did not locate the suspects.

Deputies cited a mother and her son for shoplifting at a box store on U.S. 2 East Monday night.

Two 16-year-old girls apparently shoplifted from a box store on U.S. 2 East around 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The man seen standing in the road yelling at cars near a Coram bar at 8:13 p.m. Monday was gone when deputies arrived.

Deputies were called to check on the man seen sitting in a ditch along Columbia Falls Stage around 9:25 p.m. Monday.

Seeing about 25 people in the middle of Foy’s Lake Road soon after midnight, a resident called deputies who determined the group was just out for a walk.

After attempting to break down a bedroom door in a Harmony Road residence, a reportedly intoxicated man left for the night. Deputies gave him a ride to a hotel after they spotted him walking around 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Deputies received 118 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

An apparently intoxicated man left a U.S. 93 South grocery bathroom and drove off in a Dodge Ram around 8 p.m. Monday. Police were unable to locate him.

The man yelling death threats at a woman near a Second Street West residence around 1 a.m. Tuesday was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Unknown persons stole a tailgate off a truck parked along Fifth Avenue East sometime Monday night.

A stolen truck was located near the railroad tracks by a Kalispell mall at 7:18 a.m. Tuesday. Police initially thought the checkbook and cell phone located in the truck belonged to a suspect, but later determined the items belonged to another victim whose vehicle had been ransacked. Officers are investigating.

A 17-year-old girl was arrested for partner or family member assault after she reportedly punched her mother at a Greatview Drive residence Tuesday morning.

Two teen girls were released to their parents after attempting to shoplift jeans and a tank top from a sporting goods store on Hutton Ranch Road at 2:14 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers received 56 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Whitefish Police received 18 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Two people without lifejackets in a canoe got caught in the ice around 9:36 a.m. Tuesday. They were able to return safely.

Three Rivers EMS transported a man with possible alcohol poisoning to North Valley Hospital around 7 p.m. Monday.

ALERT transported a victim with a possible head injury resulting from a one-vehicle accident along U.S. 2 East around 9:14 p.m. Monday.
