Grizzly bears visit Bigfork yard

Seeing two grizzly bears in the yard, a Wolf Creek Drive resident apparently fired once over their heads to scare them, but to no avail. A grizzly bear management specialist set traps for the bears Tuesday morning.

A Buddha statue weighing around 100 pounds was stolen from the front porch of an Essex Place residence sometime Monday night, according to a report made to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office.

A tree took powerlines with it as it fell onto a car parked along Harbor Heights Boulevard around 5:30 p.m. Monday.

It is unknown how a woman sustained burns to her legs and hand at a McCaffery Road residence around 10 a.m. Tuesday. Bigfork Ambulance transported her to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
