Lydia Beck, 88

Lydia Beck, 88, passed away on Jan. 18, 2010, at Powell County Memorial Hospital. Lydia was born on Sept. 1, 1921, in Dodge, N.D., to Carl and Margaret Stuber Singer. She was raised in North Dakota and Montana. Lydia married Tom Beck in 1946 in Baker. She worked for the Columbia Falls School District cleaning, cleaned houses, and worked for Columbia Falls Clinic cleaning for over 35 years, retiring at the age of 82. Lydia enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, having a pretty yard, and shopping at garage sales. She loved to watch her grandson, Chad, race his car, and loved picking berries. She spent most of her time with her children and grandchildren. Lydia was preceded in death by her son, Ray Beck; three brothers, John, Bill and Richard Singer; two sisters, Anna Shoppe and Ida Bonnett; and one granddaughter, Kimberly Lundstrom. She is survived by two sons, Tom and Randy Beck; five daughters, Sandra Lundstrom, Linda Holliday, Rita Hawkins, Wendy Witte and Meredith Tuttle; two sisters, Emma Schopp and Millie Rieger; grandchildren, Stephanie Grein, Chad Lundstrom, Lora Blankenship, Michael Steppe, Doug Hawkins, Steven Hawkins, Jessie Beck, Tarryn Beck and Brad Hawkins; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A celebration of Lydia s life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 10, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Daryl Newby officiating. Urn burial will take place following the service at C.E.
