Eleanor Eli Wolf, 76
Eleanor Eli Wolf passed away Sunday morning the ninth of May, 2010. She died of natural causes after many years of illness. She was born April 16, 1934, in Columbus, Ohio, to Clarence Pete Brown and Mary A. Brown. She attended St. Peter s grade school, a school which her grandfather helped to build. She graduated from Holy Family High School in Columbus in 1952. Eli married Robert Wolf, the love of her life, in 1954 after a four-year courtship. They moved to Colorado in 1963 and to Montana in 1968, settling in Kalispell. Elli worked as a secretary until they moved to Thompson Falls in 1974. There she was secretary to the superintendent of schools. She was one of the first EMTs in Sanders County and helped to form what is now the Thompson Falls Ambulance Service. After moving to Hamilton in 1979, she worked as office manager for the Bitterroot Irrigation Company. She also was active in the Ravalli County Ambulance for nine years. Eleanor had a loving spirit for life, family and God. Her commitment to the service of her community was only surpassed by the time she shared with her family and friends. She will always be remembered with the sparkle in her eyes that could make the darkest times better. She always brought out the best in those around her and the world is a better place because of knowing her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary M. Eing; brother, Lawrence Brown; grandson, Specialist James R. Wolf, who died in Iraq; and sister-in-law, Sally Ann Wolf. She is survived by her husband, Bob, of 55 years; three sons, Robert and Chris Wolf of Scottsbluff, Neb., Michael and Karen Wolf of Post Falls, Idaho, and Thomas and Patti Wolf of Lolo; eight grandchildren, David and fiancee Jodi, Elli Jo, Rachael, Zachary, Michael, Cassidy, Jared and Brittany, and Chantel; two great-grandsons, Tyler and Caleb; many special brothers-in-law, Douglas Wolf and Irene, James Wolf and Kathy, and Jeff Wolf and Julie; nephews, Eric Wolf, Mark Wolf, Danny Wolf and Sean Eing; nieces, Connie Eing, Gina Murray and Lisa Powell; special friend, Marlene; and many other close friends. Eleanor s life will be celebrated by a Mass at 2 p.m. on Aug. 7, at St. Anthony s Catholic Church (her and Bob s 56th anniversary). She and Bob were well noted for the proliferation and support of the Red Pin Society. Memorial contributions can be made in Eleanor s name to The American Cancer Society.
