Bravettes relay team, Perrin turn in top times
LIBBY - Some of Flathead's tracksters saved their best for last as the Braves and Bravettes competed in their final meet before next week's divisionals.
In a dual with Libby on Friday, Flathead totaled 104 points on the boys side and 110 on the girls side for the double win.
Freshman Zach Perrin won the boys 1,600 in 4:26.80, which is currently the second fastest time in the state and tops in AA.
The Flathead girls long relay team ran their best time of the season and qualified for state along the way. Megan Klingensmith, Mary Allen, Jaclyn Rauthe and Tess Brenneman combined for 4:07.31, which won and earned them an automatic bid to the state meet in Great Falls.
Also, Paige Bouma qualified in the 1,600 with a winning time of 5:26.32.
Flathead's track teams head to Helena next week for the Western AA divisional.
