Businesses are invited to participate in the eighth annual Small Business Hazardous Waste Collection Event on Friday, May 21, at the Flathead County Landfill.

This county-sponsored event offers businesses an easy, legally compliant and cost-effective way to dispose of hazardous wastes, according to a news release from the Waste Not Project.

Typical disposal costs for business-generated hazardous waste are greatly reduced by taking advantage of reduced group fees for small businesses.

The Flathead County Landfill is on U.S. 93 midway between Kalispell and Whitefish. For more information, call the Waste Not Project at 756-8993.

On Saturday, May 22, the Flathead Vall-E-Waste collection event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Valley Recycling, 1410 U.S. 2 W., Kalispell.

For a small fee the general public can bring electronics such as computer monitors, laptops, speakers, keyboards, televisions and DVD players to be recycled in the United States using environmentally sound processes.

Call Valley Recycling (406) 257-2574 if you have any questions.
