William Dale Bill Stine, 62

William Dale Bill Stine, 62, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2010, at his residence in Kalispell, following a year-long battle with brain cancer. He was born on Nov. 19, 1947, in Malta, the son of William Kenneth and Corrine (Granlund) Stine. He attended schools in Malta and graduated from Malta High School in 1966. He attended Northern Montana College (now MSU-Northern) and the University of Montana. He was later drafted into the U.S. Army in 1969 and served in Vietnam, and was discharged in 1971. Bill joined his father as a partner in Stine s Insurance of Malta and sold the business when he retired. Bill loved following horse racing, both on the track and at simulcast sites. He also enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He liked to take trips to visit old friends. Last fall he took in an Arizona Cardinal game and a Phoenix Suns game; and he enjoyed the Beatles show Love in Las Vegas. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved spoiling his nieces and his great-nieces and -nephews. Bill was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Linda Taylor, and husband, Vince, of Bigfork; two nieces, Marshelle Wade and husband, Curt, of Bigfork, and Janell Berger and husband, Brandon, of Billings; great-nieces and -nephews, Colin and Keni Wade, and Spence and Kamryn Berger; an uncle, Keith Stine, of Malta; three aunts, Dorothy Granlund of Malta, and Nancy Granlund and Esther Brayton, both of California. There will be a memorial service later in the summer, which will be announced at a later date. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home is caring for Bill s family.
