Woman on overnight grocery run

A transient man called Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies after his wife failed to return from getting groceries. She apparently left at 5 p.m. Tuesday, the man told deputies around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. He said they hadn’t been arguing or anything. The man then decided he didn’t want to speak to the deputy anymore and said he would call back if he changed his mind.

Two shirtless men yelling “white power” outside a bar on Montana 35 Tuesday afternoon were gone when deputies arrived.

A sign reading “No Trespassing” was obviously not effective because the sign itself was stolen from a Lakeside residence around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

After a 27-year-old man apparently shattered the windshield of his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle, he was arrested for probation violation, partner or family member assault and criminal contempt at an Ezy Drive residence around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Gunshots were heard near Railway Street around 2 a.m. Wednesday, but deputies were unable to locate their origin.

A man was reportedly sending threatening texts to another man around 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Finding mail along Somers Stage Road, a deputy delivered it to its owner.

The debris found scattered around the Therriault Road boat launch Wednesday afternoon wasn’t from transients, as had been reported, but was rather the aftermath of a party.

Cows are so hungry, they’re eating the fence posts, a concerned citizen reported to deputies. Deputies checked on the animals and determined they were healthy, just bored.

Deputies received 156 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A Kirsten Drive resident alerted police about buying candy that was reportedly never delivered. The boy-salesman’s mother had apparently waited in a car outside during the transaction, and the resident gave Kalispell Police a description of the woman’s car and appearance. It has been logged for information.

A 27-year-old man was arrested for apparently shoplifting from a grocery on Third Avenue East North Tuesday afternoon.

A nearby live band was apparently singing songs with offensive lyrics, a Ninth Avenue West resident told police Tuesday night. Officers noted that the music had since stopped.

A woman was arrested for partner or family member assault following a disturbance at a North Meridian Road residence around 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers separated a man and woman arguing at a Third Avenue East apartment around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Four apparently suspicious men were hanging out near a deli on First Avenue East around 2 a.m. Wednesday, but had left by the time police arrived.

Officers received 91 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Whitefish Police received 15 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Columbia Falls Police received 9 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

After falling from his bike along Springcreek Drive, a 12-year-old boy was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center with an aching stomach and scrapes on his elbows.

Kalispell Ambulance transported a man to Kalispell Regional Medical Center following a motorcycle vs. vehicle collision near the intersection of Fourth Street and Main around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

A vehicle accident at Four Mile Drive and U.S. 93 on Wednesday evening caused long traffic delays on the highway. The severity and extent of his injuries are unknown, but he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
