POLSON - A seven-run fourth inning carried Northwestern A regular-season softball champ Polson to an 8-4 victory over Columbia Falls on Thursday.

Polson (15-5 overall and 6-1 league) trailed after Cassidee Skiles ripped a two-run shot to center in the top half of the inning to put Columbia Falls in front 2-1.

"We came back," Polson coach Larry Smith said.

"That's what we needed to do, respond quickly and powerfully."

Polson sent 12 batters to the plate in the bottom of the fourth inning and banged out eight hits. Kylie Knutson had the big hit in that rally, a double that drove in two runs.

Sallie Sams also had a big day at the plate, going 3-for-4.

Polson's final game of the regular season is today at Libby.
