Bigfork girls Western B track champs

MISSOULA - Mallery Knoll won two individual events, Cailtlin Charlebois took first place in the pole vault and senior distance standout Kayla Carlson shattered the meet record in the 800 to help Bigfork claim the Western B divisional track title on Saturday.

Knoll won the 100 (13.17) and 300 hurdles (47.32) and also ran a leg on the first-place 1,600 relay.

She added a second-place finish in the 100 hurdles.

Carlson cruised to a six-second victory in the 800 with her blistering time of 2:16.38. That beat the old divisional mark by almost 2 1/2 seconds.

Eureka's Bailey Malecha was second in the 800.

Carlson also placed second in the 3,200.

Bigfork finished the two-day event with 113 points. Superior was a distant second with 68, followed by Darby, 64, and Eureka, 54.

For the Bigfork boys, Keenan Evans won the 100 (11.32). That was the lone first on the day for the Vikings.

Evans finished second in the 200, while teammate Travis Knoll tied for second in the pole vault.

Bigfork wound up sixth in the standings with 43 points. Eureka was eighth with 35.

Darby claimed the team title with a 116 total.

The top six individuals and relays advance to state in Laurel.

Eureka's Hunter Price finished second in the 110 hurdles.

The Eureka girls finished second in the 1,600 relay.
