Wedding was 'explosive' situation

A resident in the Vista Linda vicinity at Somers told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office there were explosions going off in the neighborhood Saturday evening. Deputies learned there was nothing to fear — the explosive sounds were fireworks going off to celebrate a newly married couple.

A 25-year-old woman was arrested in Martin City early Sunday morning and charged with partner/family member assault.

Horse neglect was reported in a Kokanee Bend neighborhood.

Deputies responded to 120 calls between 4 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday.

Columbia Falls Police arrested three juveniles for criminal trespassing after they were caught running around on the roof of Columbia Falls High School on Saturday evening.

A power outage caused by a damage to a power pole near Pizza Hut in Columbia Falls left residents without electricity for a couple of hours. The outage frustrated a customer at a downtown Columbia Falls grocery store; he reportedly began yelling at employees when the zapped power interfered with his purchase. The disgruntled shopper left before officers arrived.

Officers received 23 calls for service between 4 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday.

Kalispell Police arrested a 25-year-old man Saturday afternoon in Lawrence Park on a warrant from another jurisdiction and for an open-container violation.

A child was bitten by a dog on Woodland Avenue Saturday afternoon.

A 1-year-old child was left unattended in an unlocked running vehicle for about 15 minutes while the driver was inside a local drug store; officers were unable to locate the driver.

Officers counseled a man for littering on Windriver Drive.

An unlocked bicycle was stolen from a back yard on Third Avenue West.

A wallet pouch was found at a book store on U.S. 93 North.

On Liberty Street, a runaway girl was arrested and taken to a local facility for a mental-health evaluation.

Officers were called to a bar on U.S. 93 South after a fight broke out, involving 12 to 15 patrons. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to 55 calls between 4 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday.

Whitefish Police responded to a report of animal cruelty at a Wedgewood Drive home, where a malamute cross was whining. The case was referred to the animal warden.

A panhandler was sent on his way after harassing an employee at a Whitefish convenience store.

Officers responded to 24 calls between 4 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday.
