Lavert Boone Elkins, 91

Lavert Boone Elkins, 91, passed away May 24, 2010, at Heritage Place in Kalispell, of natural causes. She was born Jan 21, 1919, in Linden, Texas, and raised in Alexandria, La. She graduated with a degree in early childhood education from West Valley College in San Jose, Calif. In 1939, Lavert married Charlie Elkins in Hawthorne, Calif. Lavert was the administrator and owner of Green Hills Preschool for 11 years until her retirement. Prior to her work at the preschool, she was a homemaker, mother and wife. She enjoyed art, especially drawing and painting, Bible study and Christian fellowship groups. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Charlie Elkins, who passed away in 1989; her brother, Dan Boone; and mother, Annie Ingram. Lavert is survived by her sons, Garris and wife, Jan, and Dwain and wife, Carol; grandchildren, Heather Elkins Holmquist and husband Wes, Chuck Elkins and wife Kristina, Matt Elkins and wife Keah, Jim Elkins, David Elkins and Anna Elkins; and great-grandchildren, Hadley and Harper Holmquist, and Baelyn and Ever Elkins. A private family burial will be held at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the charity of your choice.
