'Threatening' man hinders pick-up

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office responded to an early Sunday morning dispute involving a woman who was attempting to get belongings from a house on Whalebone Drive, but was encountering a threatening and confrontational man. Deputies ended up temporarily detaining the man to resolve the situation.

There was a report of a man and woman yelling at each other at a Smith Lake Road residence. They were gone when deputies arrived.

There was a report of a purse being stolen from a woman’s walker while it was parked outside a bar on Montana 35 in Evergreen.

An East Reserve Drive resident reported that four teenage hunters were shooting unsafely in a nearby field, and that shotgun pellets were hitting his house. It turned out that the hunters were on property owned by one of the teenager’s families, and the group maintained they were shooting safely.

A Whalebone Drive resident reported that his stepson had kicked in the door to a locked room to get some of his belongings.

Early Monday, a person reported that a door on a pickup had been kicked in while parked at a bar in Marion.

Whitefish Police were called in twice Sunday morning to deal with a combative man at North Valley Hospital.

There were two loud music complaints at an address on Skyles Place.

Sunday morning, Kalispell Police got a call from the 300 block of Harrison Boulevard reporting a theft from a vehicle sometime Saturday night.

There was a report of two vehicles being rifled through on the 200 block of Farview Drive sometime Saturday night.

A person calling from the 300 block of Harrison Boulevard reported the theft of an amplifier from a vehicle sometime Saturday.

A house on the 1900 block of Belmar Lane was reportedly hit with paint balls.

Sunday night, there was some Halloween mischief with a report of kids smashing pumpkins on Whitebirch Lane.

Early Monday, there was a report from the 100 block of Hawthorne Avenue of subjects trying to break into a residence through a balcony door. It turned out to be a dispute between two men and a woman, and the men were advised to leave the area.

A Kalispell Parks and Recreation crew requested officer assistance in breaking up a transient camp in the Lawrence Park area. One transient had previously been asked to leave three times and kept returning.
