Deer can't get head out of bucket

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report Sunday about a deer walking around the Daley Lane area with a bucket on its head. The deer, which had probably gotten too far into feed of some kind, could not be located.

A sheriff’s animal warden finally captured a pit bull that had been roaming for several days in the East Cottonwood Drive area in Evergreen.

A McMannamy Draw resident called to report that a 6-year-old son was found to be in possession of marijuana, and initially wanted the child arrested. That did not happen, but the people involved were counseled.

A woman, 45, was arrested for drunk driving after a traffic stop in the 11th Street area near Columbia Falls Sunday night.

There was a report of a tire and wheel being stolen from a residence on Halfmoon Road.

A Dillon Road resident called to report someone was driving around in a privately owned field. The vehicle was not located.

A person calling from an address on the 400 block of Second Avenue West Sunday reported that sometime overnight a car window was shot with a BB gun.

There was a report of an iPod being stolen from a vehicle on the 500 block of North Main Street.

A person calling from an address on the  900 block of Fourth Avenue East reported that items were taken from a home in a burglary over the weekend.

A man, 38, turned himself in at the county jail on a Kalispell warrant for failing to appear in court.

A woman called from a bar on Woodland Park Drive Monday, just after midnight, to report she has a restraining order against a man who was at the bar. That led to the man, 48, being arrested on a justice court warrant.

A vehicle was vandalized on the 800 block of East Idaho Street.

There was a report of a vehicle being rifled through sometime overnight on the 1400 block of First Avenue East, with a digital camera and charger taken.

A vehicle was egged on 300 block of Sixth Avenue West.

Video games were stolen from a residence on the 700 block of Fifth Avenue East.

Monday afternoon, there was a report from a residence on the 100 block of Glenwood Drive regarding a stolen white Suburban.

A person called the Whitefish Police Sunday to report that he had been attacked on Wisconsin by an elderly man whom he suspected was reacting to a lack of insulin. Officers located and helped the man to his residence, where his condition improved after getting insulin.

The Montana Highway Patrol and Montana Department of Transportation responded an accident on U.S. 2 in the Essex area involving a pickup pulling a 40-foot cargo trailer that jackknifed. The wreck happened at about 11 a.m. Monday in an area with black ice on the highway about two miles west of the Snow Slip Cafe. Both lanes of traffic were blocked until about noon.
