Police decline to take man to jail

The Whitefish Police Department denied a wheelchair-bound man’s request that he be taken to jail and issued him a citation for being disorderly near U.S. 93 South. He later allegedly rammed into someone’s legs with his wheelchair on Spokane Avenue, removed the screws holding a license plate on a vehicle and made threats of violence before leaving the area.

Officers conducted extra patrols on Somers Avenue after a woman reported an unknown person was banging on her door.

A burglary was reported on North Prairiesmoke Circle.

Kalispell Police Department officers arrested a 54-year-old man for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol after he collided with a telephone pole on Montana 35.

On Third Avenue West, a woman reported finding a note on her property that said “shut your (expletive) dog up or it’s going to get rat poison.”

Three men were seen using binoculars to look in a business on South Main Street, but they were gone when officers arrived.

A man was reported as suspicious for selling meat door-to-door on Seventh Avenue West.
