Alleged thief takes cash from food bank jar

The Kalispell Police Department received a report of a man on North Main Street allegedly stealing money from a jar meant to raise money for the food bank. The theft was caught by a surveillance camera.

A necklace and other items were reported stolen from a home on Sixth Avenue West North.

A child was bitten by a dog near U.S. 93 North.

On Two Mile Drive, extra patrols were requested by a man who wouldn’t provide his name but said that “trouble is brewing.”

A 13-year-old girl was cited for shoplifting and released to her mother after she was caught stealing earrings from a business on North Main Street.

Someone reported that East Oregon Street was a “sheet of ice.” The driver was told that all roads are currently icy.

Five people wearing vests reportedly came to a woman’s home on Third Avenue East, prompting her boyfriend to call 911.

Two trucks were seen spinning out in the snow on First Avenue East North, thus drawing the ire of a neighbor.

A 90-year-old woman on Fourth Avenue East called police because she thought her cat was dead in a container on her porch. The cat ran away when an officer helped the woman check on the cat.

A woman drove away in a Toyota Camry after allegedly attempting to steal video games from a business on U.S. 93 North.

On Bluestone Drive, someone drove through a fence and then left the area.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office was called after a man and his son failed to return from a hunting trip near the Spotted Bear Ranger District east of the Hungry Horse Reservoir. They were located by U.S. Forest Service personnel and said they were having trouble with their vehicle.

A 17-year-old special-needs student was reported missing after wandering away from a school on Commerce Street in Bigfork. He returned a short time later.

On Batavia Lane, someone accused a storage-unit employee of stealing possessions.

A dog on Third Avenue South in Martin City was accused of trying to bite a girl.

The Whitefish Police Department received a report from a caller in Louisiana who found a “burned up” camper trailer that was registered to an owner who lives in Whitefish.

At a business on U.S. 93 South, an employee was accused of stealing and activating phone cards.

A woman on Wisconsin Avenue reported that two boys came to her door and began yelling and demanding she let them in. They were gone when an officer arrived.

No injuries were reported after a vehicle carrying two people rolled into a ditch on Voerman Road.
