Kalispell offers youth skating lessons this winter

 The Kalispell City Parks and Recreation Department offers children an opportunity to learn to ice skate this winter. Five sessions will be available:

Session 1: Dec. 6-18

Session 2: Jan. 3-15

Session 3: Jan. 17-29

Session 4: Jan. 31-Feb. 12

Session 5: Feb. 14-26

The cost is $28 per session two days a week for four lessons.

Skate rentals are available for $10 per session at Woodland Ice Center.

Ice Cubes: Ages 4 to 6 for children who have never had lessons before or who need help marching across the ice.

Monday 3:45-4:10 p.m.

Wednesday 3:45-4:10 p.m.

Saturday 3-3:25 p.m.

Icebergs: 7 and older for children who have never or are beginning to push, glide and beginning to wiggle backwards.

Monday 3:45-4:10 p.m.

Wednesday 3:45-4:10 p.m.

Saturday 3-3:25 p.m.

Icicles: 4-6 years for children who are beginning to push, glide and beginning to wiggle backwards.

Monday 4:15-4:40 p.m.

Wednesday 4:15-4:40 p.m.

Saturday 3:30-3:55 p.m.   

Snowflakes: 7 and older

Skaters will practice skills such as forward, backward, stopping, swizzles, wiggles and glides.
