Police respond to weekend brawls

Kalispell Police Department officers arrested a man outside a bar on North Meridian Road after he allegedly threw a pint glass at another man. The glass struck the man’s head, causing it to bleed.

A man was arrested on a warrant after a brawl outside a business on First Avenue West that involved as many as seven people.

Another man was arrested for obstructing, resisting arrest, criminal trespass and possession of drugs and paraphernalia after allegedly brandishing a knife near First Street West.

A man near the intersection of West Oregon Street and First Avenue West North told officers someone took his vehicle without permission. When he located the vehicle, the apparent thief fled on foot.

A woman on Fifth Avenue West said she a loaned a phone to a friend. When she asked for it back, the friend threatened to beat her up, she said.

One haul wasn’t enough for an apparent shoplifter who returned to a business on Hutton Ranch Road and was promptly arrested. Stolen merchandise was found in the 16-year-old girl’s vehicle.

One person was taken to the hospital after a motorcycle collided with a vehicle near the intersection of West Idaho Street and Second Avenue West North.

Criminal mischief was reported when someone saw a group of girls wrapping a car in cellophane near Hutton Ranch Road. Officers determined it was just a mutual prank between kids.

On Liberty Street, a caller saw what appeared to be several people smoking marijuana in a vehicle. The vehicle was unoccupied when officers arrived.

Rocks were thrown through a vehicle window on Fifth Avenue East.

Officers counseled a man driving a pickup with Texas plates off of U.S. 93 South after he allegedly threatened to blow another driver’s head off.

A woman was banned from a check-cashing business near U.S. 93 South after she attempted to cash fraudulent checks.
