Wolfpack win inaugural speech meet

The Kalispell Kickoff might soon turn into Glacier High School’s favorite speech and debate tournament.

The Wolfpack won the season’s inaugural meet for the fourth straight year Saturday, edging out their crosstown competitors for the win. Glacier High finished the tournament with 231 points; Flathead High School finished with 227 points.

Kalispell had 15 individual event champions, eight from Glacier and seven from Flathead. In only one event, Duo Interpretation, did a student from another school take first-place honors.

Eighteen teams from eight schools competed in the kickoff at Glacier High School. Missoula Sentinel finished in third place in Class AA action with 117.5 points.

Among Class A, B and C teams, Hamilton came in first with 35 points, followed by Corvallis with 29 points. Libby High School finished in third place with 11 points.
