Young grizzly moved from West Kootenai
A troublesome young grizzly bear has been captured in the West Kootenai community and relocated to the extreme northwest part of the state.
The 215-pound male bear was visiting homes and getting into apples and garbage in the area just west of the north end of Lake Koocanusa, according to a news release from Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.
The bear was captured Tuesday, fitted with a GPS radio collar and green ear tags and released Wednesday in the Spread Creek drainage.
