Woman wins tobacco-related fight

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office responded to a verbal disturbance at a home near U.S. 93 south of Whitefish where a man and woman were fighting over cigarettes and a can of chewing tobacco. The man initially hung up on a dispatcher after learning deputies were on their way, saying “the woman always wins.” The man and woman were not cited.

Deputies were unable to locate anything suspicious after a caller on East Reserve Drive reported seeing something fall from the sky with “a lot of flames.”

Tools, cash and DVDs were reported stolen from a home on Conrad Drive.

A woman stopped to pick up garbage on Jellison Road near Columbia Falls as a deputy was searching for the owner of the trash.

On Blazing Trail outside Kalispell, a woman said her neighbor’s dog bit her face.

A woman near U.S. 93 in Lakeside said she gave her ex-boyfriend permission to take a hot tub but that he had also taken other items from her home.

A caller on Cemetery Road reported seeing a man smoking marijuana in a van.

Trees were reportedly being cut down illegally on Pleasant Valley Road in Marion.

On El Rancho Road, a woman said her estranged son threatened to kill her, her husband and her other son.

The Kalispell Police Department received a report from a woman walking near Four Mile Drive and U.S. 93 North, who said a man started running after her and a walking partner asking if they knew an attorney. One of the women claimed her husband was a police officer and the man stopped.

The owner of a dog accused of biting a delivery man on Third Avenue East agreed to have the animal quarantined.
