Nellie Shiflett, 87

Nellie Shiflett, 87, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at the home of her daughter in Rock Springs, Wyo.

She had been a Rock Springs resident for the past five years and a former resident of Kalispell.

She was born Feb. 27, 1924, in Haxby, Mont., the daughter of Joseph and Anna Hall.

She married Keith L. Shiflett in November of 1941 in Kalispell. He preceded her in death in 1981.

She worked as a homemaker, caretaker and housekeeper for many years. She was a member of the Rock Springs Evangelical Free Church. Her interests included her family, church, crocheting and watching TV.

Survivors include her son, Keith E. Shiflett, of Spokane; daughter, Beverly Megahey, of Rock Springs; grandchildren, Kevin Wayne Megahey and Scott Alan    Shiflett; and great-grandchildren, Matthew and Keith O’Brian, and Amanda and Aleisha Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bert, Cecil Rex, Theron "Pete" and Joseph; sisters, Wilma and Alma; and one granddaughter, Shelly Smith.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services were held on April 2 in Rock Springs.

 A memorial service and inurnment will take place in August in Kalispell at a date to be announced.
