Entrance fees to Glacier National Park will be waived during National Park Week, April 16-24.

In January, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced 17 fee-free days in national parks, monuments and sites. National Park Week is the longest fee-free period this year.

“In these tough economic times, our fee-free days will give families many opportunities to enjoy our nation’s heritage and natural beauty in meaningful and affordable ways,” Salazar said.

“Enjoying Glacier National Park, in all of its seasons, can be rewarding,” Glacier National Park’s Superintendent Chas Cartwright said. “The first signs of spring are now appearing which also results in the annual migration of birds in the park.”

Additional fee-free dates beyond National Park Week will be the first day of summer (June 21), National Public Lands Day (Sept. 24) and the weekend of Veterans Day (Nov. 11-13).
