Heidi Sharon Soderstrom Barber, 49

Heidi Sharon Soderstrom Barber, 49, of Fond du Lac, Wis., “left this earth to go home to Heaven” on Sunday, April 17, 2011, at Agnesian HealthCare Hospice Home of Hope, Fond du Lac.

She was born on Aug. 23, 1961, in Kalispell, the daughter of Bob and Joyce Soderstrom. Heidi graduated from St. Mary Springs High School, Fond du Lac, in 1979.

While raising her family, she enjoyed many vacations and traveling excursions. Her joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her love of family and her strength in picking herself up when health issues knocked her down.

Heidi was a member of Holy Family Catholic Community.

She is survived by three sons, Garland and Samantha Barber of Fond du Lac, and their three children, Lillian, Aurora and Gabriel, Grant Barber of Madison, Wis., and Garrett Barber of Fond du Lac; her mother, Joyce Soderstrom, of Fond du Lac; her father, Bob, and Arlene Soderstrom, of Kalispell; two sisters, Sharmen Soderstrom of Mesa, Ariz., and Shelly Soderstrom of Milwaukee, Wis.; her maternal grandmother, Fern Olson, of Sioux Falls, S.D.; her former husband, Russell T. Barber, of Fond du Lac; and a niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, John Soderstrom; maternal grandfather, Nobel Olson; and her paternal grandparents, John  and Susie Soderstrom.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, at St. Mary Catholic Church of Holy Family Parish, 59 E. Merrill Avenue, Fond du Lac, with the Rev. Luke Strand officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
