DeLoris Rose Ritenour Kimball, 90

DeLoris Rose Ritenour Kimball of Swan Lake, and Ogden, Utah, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, due to incidence of age.

She was born on Dec. 11, 1920, in Priest River, Idaho, the daughter of Carl A. and Tess Ritenour.

She is a graduate of Pomona High School, Pomona, Calif., and the University of LaVern, LaVern, Calif.

A retired school teacher, DeLoris taught elementary aged children for the Chino Unified School District in Chino, Calif., for 25 years. She was past president of the El Rancho Parent-Teachers Association, and a former member of the Chino Business and Professional Women's Club and the American Association of University Women. DeLoris was a life member of the Sunrise Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Ontario, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl A. and Tess Ritenour; her brother, Thorten Ritenour; and her husband of 58 years, Austin F. Kimball.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherrie Kimball, and Diane Amalfitano and Harry; her three grandchildren, Michelle and Ted McCurdy, Scott Amalfitano, and Orion and Heather Burnham, and her seven great-grandchildren, Katelyn McCurdy, Ashley McCurdy, Megan McCurdy, Dakota Burnham, Ocean Burnham, Gavin Gabor and Alexia Gabor.

A small, family memorial service will be held at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT 84401.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Mountain Ridge Assisted Living of Ogden for the loving care given to DeLoris by its staff.
