The Kalispell Education Foundation has launched a new program to honor extraordinary teachers.

The Platinum Award for Excellence in Education provides an opportunity for community members to recognize teachers, administrators and other school staffers.

With a donation to the foundation, contributors may name a distinguished teacher and include a personal note to be delivered with the award.

The honored educators will receive cards with donors’ personalized messages, lapel pins, acknowledgment of their distinction from their school principals and recognition of their honor on the Kalispell Education Foundation website.

Platinum Awards may be designated at any time for holiday gifts, teacher appreciation, retirement or any time a student, family or community member wishes to show appreciation.

The foundation requests a minimum $10 donation and donors must complete a nomination form that is available at www.kalispelleducationfoundation.org or by calling 257-7550.

Donations will be used to support the foundation’s mission of providing grants to teachers for projects that are not covered by the regular school budget.

Donors will receive receipts for their tax-deductible gifts.
