Governor, legislators to be featured at May 5 forum

 The Whitefish Chamber of Commerce is hosting a forum May 5 that will feature Gov. Brian Schweitzer and Flathead Valley legislators.

The first annual “Politics at the PAC” forum will open with an informal lunch reception catered by Amazing Crepes from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the lobby of the Whitefish Performing Arts Center.

Afterwards, Schweitzer will deliver a keynote address and take questions about the successes and failures of the 2011 legislative session.

That will be followed by a panel discussion headed up by Sen. Bruce Tutvedt, R-Kalispell, who serves as the Senate’s president pro tempore.

Several other area legislators also are expected to participate. The cost of the event is $20 per person and RSVPs are requested by May 2 by calling 862-3501.

The forum is being co-sponsored by the Daily Inter Lake.
