Missing girl was just napping in the closet

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a missing 8-year-old girl at a home on Conrad Drive. Her family and neighbors searched the neighborhood for her, but she was later found sleeping in a closet.

A bicycle stolen from a home on Collier Lane was returned, though it had been painted red and its brakes were removed.

Mail was reported stolen from a mailbox on Blanchard Hollow Road near Whitefish.

A caller on U.S. 2 East reported that a woman ran in front of a vehicle and yelled “hit me.”

Harassment was alleged by the mother of one of three 9-year-old girls who reported that two older boys asked to play doctor with them while walking home from school on Montana 35.

A man who apparently fell off a train near U.S. 2 West in Columbia Falls was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Someone reported hearing the sound of glass breaking and a woman screaming in a motel room on U.S. 2 East. Deputies found nothing to confirm the report.

Kalispell Police Department officers arrested a 20-year-old man after he reportedly threw rocks at a vehicle near an apartment complex on North Meridian Road at about 4:19 p.m. Thursday. The man, who was also accused of pushing his girlfriend earlier in the day, was treated for cuts on his hands and booked in the Flathead County Detention Center.

A duck with a broken wing and a dart in its eye was seen in a pond in Woodland Park.
