Thomas E. Brown, 61, of Columbia Falls, died Thursday, May 5, 2011, due to injuries from a motorcycle accident in York, Pa.
Thomas was born to Julius and Olga (Olson) Brown on April 8, 1950, in Detroit Lakes, Minn. He grew up in Detroit Lakes, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1968.
He worked for Ross Auto Body and was a self-taught construction worker, building and restoring old homes during his lifetime.
Thomas married Anne O’Neil in December 1979, and they had one son, Cale Brown, in 1981. Cale was killed in an automobile/pedestrian accident in 2008.
Thomas and Anne moved to York in 2000, continuing to purchase and restore old homes.
Surviving Thomas are his father, Julius, and Joyce Brown, of Dilworth, Minn.; brothers, Julius Brown Jr., of Omaha, Neb., and Curtis and Denise Brown of Detroit Lakes; and sisters, Nancy and Dave Sherman of High Pointe, N.C., and Kathy and Manny Berry of Detroit Lakes.
Preceding Thomas in death were his mother, Olga Brown; maternal and paternal grandparents; and his son Cale.
A celebration of Thomas' life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at North Forty Resort, 3765 Montana Highway 40, Columbia Falls. Friends and family are welcome.
