  Gladys Marie 'Nanny' Weed, 95

  Gladys Marie “Nanny” Weed, 95, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at the Billings Clinic in Billings, of natural causes.

 Gladys was born on May 4, 1916, in Waseca, Minn., the daughter of Erick D. and Clara D. (Reick) Wobschall. She was raised and attended a country school in Waseca.

On March 21, 1934, Gladys married Orville Weed in Iowa and then moved to Montana. They lived in Kalispell and Bigfork, where Gladys worked at the Kalispell General Hospital for 22 years. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Sewing was her greatest hobby, and she made bunny rabbits for her grandchildren and many friends.

Gladys moved to Hinsdale in 1987, then to the Nemont Manor in 2004, and to the Valley View Nursing Home in 2008.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville in 1976; her parents, Erick and Clara Wobschall; and by five brothers and two sisters, Selmer Wobschall, Noel Wobschall, Pat Wobschall, Ervin Wobschall, Marvin Wobschall, Malinda Poplow and Stella Kujath.

Survivors include her two daughters, Evelyn Elaine Weed and Lloyd Jones of Hinsdale, and Doris Marie Weed and Stan Christianson of Leavenworth, Wash.; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mae Heightshoe and Ellis Reese; and a brother, Wally Wobschall, all of Minnesota.  

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 13, at Hinsdale Methodist Church in Hinsdale. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at Glacier Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kalispell.
