'Stolen' car moved by jokester friend

At 11:44 p.m. Saturday, the Kalispell Police Department received a call from a man on Seventh Avenue West North who reported his Honda Accord stolen. A few minutes later the man called back to cancel his report. He said he found his car two blocks away and that his friend had moved it as a joke.

Ten minutes earlier, a caller reported a suspicious man sitting in a car in front of a house on Parkway Drive. Police reported the man's vehicle ran out of gas, and he was waiting for someone to assist.

A caller on Fifth Avenue West said he was being harassed by two females who keep texting him threatening to report him for harassing them and to sue him for theft of money in the past.

At 10:35 a.m. Sunday, a caller reported that a business on Fifth Avenue West North was spray painted.

Sunday afternoon, a caller said she saw a man walking through the mall carrying a large backpack and a long gun in a zipped pouch. The man was not threatening, she said. Mall security officials said the man was carrying a fishing rod and reel and they were unable to locate any man with a gun.

A caller on First Avenue East North requested extra patrols for teenage kids congregating in a parking lot. They were dispersing, but the gathering happens nearly every Sunday, the caller said.

The Whitefish Police Department responded to a report of a fight on Central Avenue at 1:42 a.m. Sunday.

The Polson Police Department received a report of forgery on First Street East at 11:32 a.m. Friday.

A caller reported seeing a fire in the woods on Bayview Drive.

At 7:59 p.m., police responded to a report of disorderly conduct at a boat dock.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office received a report of a burglary from a business at 12:58 p.m. Friday.

A caller on 11th Avenue reported an assault to the Ronan Police Department at 8:36 p.m. Friday.
