Jack West, 78
Jack West, 78, passed away Aug. 22, 2011, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center of congestive heart failure.
He was born June 14, 1933, in Estes Park, Colo., and raised in Estes Park and Loveland, Colo.
He attended Loveland High School in Loveland, and then air training command at Chanute Air Force Base, Ill., ground combat school at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, and Arlington Aeronautical School in Arlington, Texas. He served with the National Guard from Dec. 1, 1949, to Feb. 2, 1951; and with the U.S. Air Force from Dec. 2, 1951, to Feb. 2 1955.
Jack married Marjorie Rose in 1955. He married Carol Hutcheson in 1971. He later remarried Marjorie, in 2001.
In his early years, Jack worked with his father as an auto mechanic in Estes Park. In his adult life until the time of his death, he was a custom residential trim contractor. He took great pride in working with his son Chris.
He enjoyed car racing, fishing, camping, RVing, and harassing the local waitresses, subcontractors and business people.
He was preceded in death by his father, Moody West; mother, Bertha West Karnes; stepfather, George Karnes; and brother, Robert West.
Jack is survived by his wife, Marjorie West; children, Chris and Marcie West, Jackie and Duane Roosa, and Laurel West; brother, Donald, and Rose West; grandchildren, Myriah and Jason Stringer, Joshua McElrea, Kathryn and Ben Ferriman, and Britni, Tyfini and Wrango West; great-grandchildren, Kyle Milton and Mila Stringer; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation has taken place. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 26, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home.
