Speeding biker evades troopers

The Montana Highway Patrol pursued a motorcycle that was traveling faster than 120 mph on U.S. 93 South near Lakeside Friday at about 2:45 p.m. The motorcyclist evaded the troopers.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report of fraudulent credit-card purchases from a caller on U.S. 93 near Whitefish. The caller said someone charged $1,700 for a pair of high-end boots without the card-owner’s knowledge.

Someone tore down a sign and mailbox on River Junction in Hungry Horse.

A woman on Shady Lane said her daughter attacked her with a bat during an altercation at about 8 a.m. Thursday.

Threats were reported by the driver of a dump trunk who said another driver threatened to beat him up and closed a door on his legs during an apparent road-rage incident on Mennonite Road Thursday morning.

Four bullet holes were found on the outside of a business on U.S. 2 West in Marion. An employee said one bullet went through the building and struck an air conditioner. It happened about two weeks ago.

A tax appraiser was threatened by a man on Tamarack Woods Drive.

Two young boys were accused of spitting on passing vehicles and attempting to hitchhike while standing along Montana 35 near Bigfork at about 6 p.m. Thursday.

A woman on Helena Flats Road said she was attacked by a stray cat.

The Kalispell Police Department received a report of an odd burglary at an orchestra office on South Main Street Friday morning. A caller said that someone broke in through a bathroom window and placed instruments and items in random places. Wine bottles were found in doorways, and apples that each had two forks in them were found. It wasn’t clear if anything was taken.

A man asked questions about a youth ministry on Airport Road. He said he suspects it is a cult.

On Seventh Avenue East, a girl reported as a runaway said her father was abusive and that her adult brother had cut all her hair off. She was allowed to stay with a friend.

A caller on 11th Street West said his or her brother was attempting to burglarize a house by way of a ladder Thursday at about 9 p.m.

A vehicle struck a garbage can and a wall outside a home on Duke Drive late Thursday night.

Theft was reported after a man said his pug was taken from a vehicle parked on Eighth Avenue West. The dog was later found on Seventh Avenue West and returned to the man.

Someone shattered the window of a vehicle near Woodland Park and took a  purse Friday at about 10 a.m.
